How to choose window valances

Choosing window valances can be time consuming. Running around from store to store looking for that perfect valance to give you the final touches to your window treatment….I know because I ‘ve done it and when I shop I will go from store to store looking for the best price and style…Sometimes I wish I wasn’t like that, it’s exhausting

I put together a little list of most common valance styles.–If you click on a window valance picture it will take you to a page to view colors in that style…. Hopfully this will save you some time and agravation and wear & tear on your feet.

Box Pleat Valance…widely use style . Will give you a clean, tailored look.




Fabric Window Valances…Classic finished look. Bottom hem is available with salloped bottom.



Swag Valance…Impressive as a treatment by itself or use over existing blinds or shades, drape it over a decorative rod.



Grommet Valance…European look, old world with a contempory touch.




Roll Up Valance…Simple, modern yet elegant. Perfect complement to a relaxed lifestyle.



Wood Cornice…Not a valance but I included it here because I like so much. Adds a very distinctive look to a room. Can be used over blinds, shades or draperies for a rich and luxurious feel.



These are some of the most common window valances. You can accomplish in about 10-20 minutes here for what took me hours of driving and shopping. My feet start to hurt just thinking about it.
